The Game Awards é a principal premiação para os melhores do universo de games no ano. Além de uma série de anuncios de lançamentos de jogos também houveram os prêmios para as diversas categorias, inclusive premiando o brasileiro Coldzera.
Marcelo “Coldzera” David é membro do time SK Gaming de CS:GO , ele venceu na categoria de “Melhor Jogador de eSports de 2016”. Ele recebeu seu prêmio das mãos do Michael Phelps , que é o atleta com maior número de medalhas olímpicas. Contando com a ajuda de uma tradutora ele fez o seguinte discurso de agradecimento:
Estar aqui é como se fosse um sonho para mim. Ganhar esse prêmio é uma conquista individual que me deixa muito feliz, porque eu abdiquei muito tempo da minha vida para chegar onde cheguei e nada mais justo do que comemorar todo esse tempo com vocês hoje. Obrigado!
